The Ministry of Information and Civic Education (MoICE) will hold the third Annual National Presidential Town Hall in Makeni on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, at the University of Makeni Auditorium.
The event will bring President Dr. Julius Maada Bio face-to-face with citizens as part of efforts to strengthen accountability, transparency, and citizens’ participation in governance.
The Town Hall series, under the civic campaign “Salone Big Pass Wi All,” has emerged as a key national platform for direct dialogue between government leaders and citizens.
Previous editions in Freetown and Kenema provided opportunities for citizens to engage with the President and senior government officials on national issues and receive direct responses on development programmes.
The Makeni engagement will offer a similar opportunity for Sierra Leoneans nationwide and abroad to raise concerns, ask questions, and engage the President directly on issues affecting their communities and the country.
Discussions are expected to focus on national priorities, including the Government’s Big Five Game Changers, economic development, gender empowerment, and Sierra Leone’s role within ECOWAS and the wider international community.
To ensure broad participation, the forum will be conducted in Krio and other local languages. Invited citizens from across the Northern Province and beyond are encouraged to attend.
The event will also be broadcast live on television, radio, and digital platforms, allowing citizens nationwide and in the diaspora to follow proceedings.
The Makeni Presidential Town Hall marks the third in the series and is expected to further strengthen engagement between citizens and government through open dialogue and inclusive participation.
