President Suspends Superior Court Judge Pending Disciplinary Investigation

Sierra Leone — 15 September 2025: The Office of the President has announced the immediate suspension of Honourable Justice Allan B. Halloway, Judge of the Superior Court of Judicature, pending the outcome of a disciplinary investigation.

The decision, conveyed through an official letter signed by Secretary to the President Barba B. Fortune, was made in accordance with Section 137(6) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991 (Act No. 6 of 1991). It follows a recommendation from the Judicial and Legal Service Commission during its meeting held on 5th September 2025.

Justice Halloway’s suspension will remain in effect until the Disciplinary Tribunal concludes its investigation into alleged misconduct.

. The suspension is part of a constitutional process designed to ensure transparency and fairness in addressing concerns related to judicial conduct.

Relevant government offices have been formally notified, including the Attorney General and Minister of Justice, the Solicitor General, the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), and the Judicial and Legal Service Commission, among others.
