Cairo, Egypt — May 13, 2025: The Sierra Leone Embassy in Cairo has officially welcomed Mr. Kai Brima as its new Head of Chancery during a formal ceremony held at the Embassy’s Conference Hall. The event, presided over by Ambassador Sadiq Silla, marked a significant transition in leadership and underscored the Embassy’s commitment to modernization and excellence.
Ambassador Silla commended the embassy staff for their professionalism and dedication, particularly in handling the African Women’s Summit Delegation, before introducing Mr. Brima as the incoming Counsellor and Head of Chancery. He acknowledged the contributions of outgoing Head Samuel Alie Kargbo, who has served with distinction since 2019, and praised his commitment to diplomatic service.
Describing Mr. Brima as a seasoned diplomat with over 30 years of experience—including 24 years in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and assignments in two foreign missions—Ambassador Silla expressed confidence in his ability to enhance the Embassy’s operations. He urged staff to maintain discipline and professionalism during the transition while ensuring that all formalities and entitlements for Mr. Brima were completed efficiently.
In his farewell address, Mr. Kargbo reflected on his tenure and expressed gratitude for the support received from colleagues. He welcomed Mr. Brima, offering assistance to ensure a seamless handover.
Taking on his new role, Mr. Brima emphasized cooperation, productivity, and accountability as key elements of his leadership approach. He pledged to work with Embassy staff to meet institutional goals and improve operational efficiency.
