Freetown, April 29, 2025 – The Speaker of the Parliament of Sierra Leone, Hon. Segepoh Solomon Thomas, has welcomed a high-level Syrian delegation, led by Ambassador Sudachi Amiri, during a courtesy visit to the House of Parliament.
The delegation included Hon. Arra Sabathia, Chairman of the Syria–Sierra Leone Parliamentary Friendship Group, alongside its Vice Chairman and Hon. Hardy, a member of the group. Speaker Thomas expressed appreciation for their visit, emphasizing the importance of diplomatic engagements in strengthening international cooperation.
“This is the people’s House, and we are always happy to host friends and partners of Sierra Leone,” Speaker Thomas stated, underscoring the longstanding relationship between the two nations. He expressed hope that the visit would foster deeper collaboration through parliamentary diplomacy and cultural exchange.
The Speaker also acknowledged the delegation’s warm reception in Sierra Leone, joking about their quick embrace of the country’s hospitality and vibrant culture.
The visit reflects Sierra Leone’s growing international engagement and efforts to bolster bilateral ties through shared interests and diplomatic cooperation.
