SLFA Launches CAF C Diploma Coaching Course in Freetown

The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) on Monday, June 8, officially commenced the CAF C Diploma Coaching Course at the Sierra Leone Football Academy in Freetown, marking the second such programme in just four months as part of its drive to strengthen coaching education and grassroots football development nationwide.

The ongoing training, currently at the Module stage, is being conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) through the SLFA’s Technical Department. It forms a central pillar of SLFA President Babadi Kamara’s vision to expand coaching capacity and modernize football development structures across Sierra Leone.

The programme has drawn aspiring coaches from different regions of the country, equipping them with modern coaching methodologies, tactical understanding, and practical skills essential for nurturing youth football.

SLFA reaffirmed that coaching education remains a priority in its football development agenda, emphasizing that building local coaching expertise is vital for long-term national progress.

By hosting consecutive CAF C Diploma courses within a short period, the SLFA signals its commitment to creating a sustainable pipeline of qualified coaches who can elevate grassroots football and contribute to Sierra Leone’s broader sporting ambitions.
