Freetown, March 7, 2026: The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has announced the provision of US$207,000 in financial support to the country’s Men’s and Women’s League Boards to strengthen the administration and smooth running of domestic football competitions.
According to the SLFA, the Men’s Premier League Board will receive US$117,000, while the Women’s Premier League Board has been allocated US$90,000.
The funding is part of the Association’s ongoing commitment to developing and sustaining competitive league football nationwide. Officials say the support will help both boards manage their competitions more effectively, improve operational capacity, and enhance the overall organization of league activities.
SLFA President Babadi Kamara emphasized that strengthening domestic leagues remains a key priority of his administration. “Strong and well-organized leagues are essential for the growth of football in Sierra Leone,” he stated.
The announcement comes as the SLFA continues its “Raise Your Game” campaign, aimed at elevating the standard of football in the country and ensuring that both men’s and women’s competitions receive adequate support.
