FREETOWN, March 16, 2026 – A military officer and three other men have been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown over allegations of conspiring to steal a low-bed trailer valued at $105,000, property of the Freetown City Council (FCC).
The accused – Mohamed Allieu Jalloh, an IT technician; Alie Kamara and Musa Turay, both businessmen; and Sorie Sesay, a military officer – made their second appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1. They face charges of conspiracy, larceny, and receiving stolen property, contrary to Sections 2 and 33(1)(b) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the prosecution, between 11th July and 16th September 2025, the defendants allegedly conspired with unknown persons to steal a low-bed trailer with registration number AVT 807 from Queen Elizabeth Road, Kissy Dockyard. The trailer is valued at $105,000 (Le2,418,044). A fifth defendant, Ernest Allieu, is accused of knowingly receiving the stolen trailer.
No plea was taken when the charges were read. Defence counsel, including S. M. Fomba Esq. and C. M. B. Amara Esq., renewed bail applications, assuring the court that the defendants would be released into their care.
In his ruling, Magistrate Jah stressed the seriousness of the offences and said he would hear from prosecution witnesses before considering bail. He emphasized that the matter remains under the court’s jurisdiction and ordered the accused to be remanded until the next hearing, scheduled for 23 March 2026.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Joan Bull is prosecuting the case on behalf of the State.
