The Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Segepoh Solomon Thomas Esq., on Thursday joined world leaders in commemorating World Children’s Day, celebrated this year under the theme “My Days, My Right.”
The Chamber of Parliament was transformed into a lively space filled with school pupils, whose presence symbolized the importance of youth voices in national governance. As part of the commemoration, Speaker Thomas announced that Parliament would host a National Children’s Dialogue at 2:00 PM in Committee Room One. The dialogue, co‑organized with parliamentary committees on Health, Gender, and Social Welfare, will provide a platform to discuss issues affecting children across Sierra Leone.
The Chairman of the Legislative Committee, Hon. Abdul Sulaiman Marray-Conteh, also welcomed the pupils, noting that a special celebration would follow in Committee Room One with selected committees.
Opposition Deputy Leader 1, Hon. Daniel Brima Koroma, joined the occasion and described the children as the nation’s future leaders.
