A technician at Sea Coach Express has testified in an ongoing fraud case involving three company staff accused of embezzling dozens of tickets valued at over seventy-three thousand new Leones.

Appearing before Magistrate Mary Julian Gbloh at Pademba Road Court No. 5 on Monday, 30th June 2025, witness Micah Tanimu — who also serves as operations manager — identified the accused as Sheik Jimmy, Hassan Kamara, and Mohamed Kamara. The trio face charges of conspiracy to defraud and embezzlement under Section 17(1)(b) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

Police allege that between 12th February and 1st April 2025, the accused conspired to fraudulently appropriate 63 Sea Coach tickets—each worth $45—without authorization from management at the Lungi International Airport branch.

Testifying, Tanimu recalled receiving a late-night call on 26th March from an IT staffer, Abdul Sankoh, alerting him to missing tickets. A follow-up investigation the next day revealed the tickets had been issued by Mohamed Kamara. Further inquiries led to the discovery of ten tickets saved on Hassan Kamara’s phone.

During questioning, the accused reportedly implicated one another. Mohamed claimed he received the tickets from Jimmy, who later appeared on the scene and alleged Hassan had given them to him. Hassan, in turn, admitted sending tickets to Mohamed but denied knowledge of Jimmy’s access.

The accused eventually escorted the investigators to a business center where transactions related to the tickets were reportedly processed. Photographs of the premises were taken as evidence.

Prosecutor Sergeant 5598 Santigie Koroma requested an adjournment to print the photos for court proceedings. Magistrate Gbloh granted the request, adjourning the matter to 1st July 2025 for continuation of the hearing.
