FREETOWN — Three individuals accused of stealing electrical cables valued at over Le59,000 have been remanded in custody following their first court appearance on Monday, June 23, 2025. The suspects—Alpha Kamara (22), Siaka Kanneh (18), and Alfred Ndapi (31), all mastic designers—were arraigned before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8. A fourth accused, Mamajah Bah (35), a blacksmith, failed to appear in court.
The four face a three-count charge including conspiracy to commit a felony, larceny contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916, and receiving stolen goods, under Section 33(1) of the same Act.
According to court records, the incident occurred on Saturday, May 31, 2025, along Mambo Main Peninsular Road in Goderich, Western Area. The group allegedly conspired to steal various sizes of electrical cables and other materials from one Noah Dauda Dabarie, with a total estimated value of Le59,350.
The court was told that the absent accused, Bah, knowingly received the stolen items.
The suspects were unrepresented in court. Prosecutor Inspector Aminata Korio applied for a bench warrant for the arrest of the absent fourth accused and his sureties. Magistrate Samura granted the request and ordered that the three present suspects be remanded at the male correctional center in Freetown.
