Freetown—In a vibrant and spirit-filled ceremony, the Tongue of Fire Children’s Choir officially released its debut gospel single, What Great God is Jesus, at their home church in Calaba Town. The event marked a significant milestone for the young choir, whose members have been diligently preparing under the guidance of their leader, Mary Ellie.
Clad in white outfits symbolizing purity and devotion, the choir members stood proudly as they presented their song before an audience of church members, parents, and well-wishers. The celebration was enhanced by the picturesque backdrop of rolling hills and clear skies, reflecting the joy and confidence of the children.
Choir Leader Mary Ellie expressed gratitude for the support received, stating, “This is a dream come true for us. The children have worked very hard, practicing day and night to ensure they deliver their very best. This song is not just about singing—it’s a message of hope, love, and the greatness of our Lord Jesus.”
The single, What Great God is Jesus, blends contemporary gospel rhythms with heartfelt lyrics, reflecting the choir’s deep faith and youthful energy. Church leaders and congregation members enthusiastically welcomed the release, applauding the choir’s live performance.
Ellie shared that the inspiration behind the song was to create a message that even the youngest voices could use to testify of God’s greatness. “Our goal is to let the world know that age is not a barrier when it comes to serving God,” she affirmed.
Looking ahead, the Tongue of Fire Children’s Choir plans to produce more recordings, aiming for a full gospel album soon. The church leadership also announced efforts to create platforms for the choir to perform at various churches and events nationwide.
