Sierra Leone – March 10, 2026: The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs (MTCA) welcomed a high-level Russian delegation in a meeting focused on strengthening cultural and educational ties between Sierra Leone and Russia. The visit was facilitated by the Office of the Vice President and accompanied by Hon. Sahr Emerson Lamina, Member of Parliament.
Hon. Lamina expressed gratitude for the delegation’s visit, emphasizing that the engagement created an opportunity to explore collaborative initiatives. Discussions centered on cultural exchange programs, presentations on Russian culture, and potential partnerships that could benefit both nations.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Natalia Krasvoskaia highlighted the role of the Center for Public Diplomacy in advancing cultural diplomacy and fostering dialogue between Russia and African countries. She outlined the organization’s initiatives in youth and women’s dialogue, educational exchanges, and broader cultural programs. Krasvoskaia also revealed plans to expand the Center’s presence in Africa, including the possibility of establishing a representation office in Sierra Leone to deepen cooperation in education, science, technology, and culture.
Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Nabeela Tunis, welcomed the initiative and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to partnerships that enhance tourism and cultural development. Permanent Secretary Judith C. Jones provided an overview of the Ministry’s mandate and ongoing projects, while Director of Tourism Travel and Exchange Program, Mohamed Jalloh, highlighted past achievements and potential areas for collaboration.
The meeting concluded with both sides expressing appreciation for the constructive dialogue and optimism for future cooperation in the cultural and tourism sectors.
