Sierra Leone — September 9, 2025: The hilltop venue of Mongo Peak at Hill Station was buzzing with energy on Tuesday evening as Inkundla Spaces hosted its widely celebrated Trivia Tuesdays event. The gathering offered a refreshing alternative to Freetown’s typical nightlife, drawing a diverse crowd of adults eager to unwind, connect, and compete in a series of interactive games.
Spearheaded by Isha ‘Izi Lee’ Kamara, PR Manager of Inkundla Spaces and the charismatic Game Master behind the initiative, Trivia Tuesdays has quickly become a staple in the city’s social calendar. The event featured a variety of games designed to foster community spirit and meaningful connections, including Musical Genius, Terrible Guess, Picture Puzzle, Jengo, and Charades. Each game was curated to encourage teamwork, creativity, and laughter, transforming strangers into teammates and friends.
This month’s edition was sponsored by Fun Supply Co., a local provider of games and arts supplies. Winners walked away with exciting prizes, including card games and a mystery puzzle designed for group play.
Speaking to Premier News, Izi Lee shared her vision for the initiative. “This is essentially a games night for adults,” she said. “We host it in third-party spaces because we noticed that in Freetown, there aren’t many places for adults to have fun and engage beyond partying at bars or restaurants.”
Lee explained that Trivia Tuesdays was born out of a desire to create inclusive spaces where adults could socialize, learn, and build lasting relationships. “Not everyone comes with a team. Some people come alone and join others, which makes it easier to make new friends. The aim is to make social connections fun and meaningful,” she added.
The event’s weeknight scheduling has proven ideal for professionals seeking a midweek break. Beyond entertainment, Lee emphasized the deeper impact of the initiative. “It promotes community building, which is so important. As we grow older, we lose human connections due to work and other commitments. These events help people unwind, step out of their comfort zones, and interact in ways that foster trust and belonging.”
Lee’s experience in hosting such events dates back to 2022, when she ran a similar program called Pub Quiz with friends at Decode at the Beach. “I noticed that at parties, people were often just scrolling on their phones, not interacting. I started a small game, and everyone loved it. That’s when I realized this could be something bigger,” she recalled.
After reviving the concept in December 2024, Trivia Tuesdays officially launched in January 2025 and has been thriving for nine consecutive months. Lee’s passion for community building remains at the heart of the initiative. “Human connection is vital, no matter who you are or what you do. These events build trust, teamwork, and excitement. Even winning as a team gives participants a sense of achievement and contribution to their community.”
Founded by Tennson Ncube, popularly known as S’phongo, Inkundla Spaces was established on the belief that creativity can drive meaningful change. Originally launched with poetry slams, open mic nights, and visual art exhibitions, the organization has evolved into a dynamic platform for cultural preservation, community development, and economic empowerment.
As Trivia Tuesdays continues to grow, Inkundla Spaces remains committed to its mission of fostering dialogue, connection, and collective action. With its inclusive format and engaging atmosphere, the event is redefining adult socialization in Freetown—one game night at a time.
