Freetown, Sierra Leone — November 18, 2025 Sierra Leone’s Vice President, Dr Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, on Tuesday warmly welcomed Liberia’s Inspector General of Police, Hon. Gregory O. W. Coleman, during a courtesy call at his office in Freetown. The meeting underscored the deep human ties and long-standing friendship between the two Mano River nations.
The visit formed part of Inspector General Coleman’s four-day working stay in Sierra Leone, aimed at enhancing cooperation and improving security coordination between the two countries’ police institutions.
Vice President Jalloh, who also serves as Head of the Police Council, expressed delight at hosting the Liberian delegation. He emphasized that Sierra Leone and Liberia share more than borders — they share people, history, and bonds built over generations.
“Welcome, welcome to all of you, to Sierra Leone,” he said, recalling shared experiences in Monrovia and Freetown as examples of the enduring warmth and familiarity between the two nations.
The Vice President highlighted the importance of collaboration in tackling cross-border crime, strengthening policing standards, and ensuring safety for citizens on both sides of the Mano River. “We value this relationship, and we believe we have a lot in common. If we work together, we can achieve a lot for our people,” he noted.
Inspector General Coleman expressed appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed Liberia’s commitment to deeper collaboration with Sierra Leone’s security institutions.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with Vice President Jalloh extending fraternal greetings from President Dr Julius Maada Bio to Liberian President Joseph Nyuma Boakai. He called for continued unity, trust, and shared purpose between the two countries as they work to strengthen peace and security in the region.
