Freetown, June 2, 2025 – Abdul Sesay, a 46-year-old welder, has made another court appearance before Magistrate Mamakoh Saio Kallon at Pademba Road Court No. 3 in Freetown. He faces one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861.
Incident Overview
According to court records, the alleged assault occurred on May 13, 2025, at Lightfoot Boston Street in Freetown. The victim, Alieu Kamara, reportedly suffered injuries after an altercation with the accused.
During the hearing, DPC 12090 Zainab Bangura led the prosecution, presenting witness Alie Tamba, a carpenter familiar with both the accused and the complainant. Tamba recounted that he had gone to purchase building materials when he encountered the complainant selling goods. He later witnessed Sesay verbally abusing Kamara, leading Kamara to attempt to calm the situation. However, Sesay allegedly bit Kamara’s left hand and struck him in the right eye before further physical confrontation ensued. Bystanders intervened, and Sesay was apprehended.
Following Tamba’s testimony, Sesay cross-examined the witness, as he was not represented by legal counsel. Magistrate Kallon adjourned the case to June 10, 2025, for further hearing.
