When we have proper playing facility it can prevent so many problems –  Bo Rangers Chairman

By Desmond Tunde Coker

It is now clear that football growth starts with good playing facilities which help players’ growth and transformation that is why on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 the Chairman of last season’s Champions Bo Rangers, Mr. Babadi Kamara donated 50 bags of black turf pellets to FC Kallon at the MK field. Speaking during the handing-over ceremony he said that there were so many things going wrong when football matches are played in non-ideal environment. ‘When we have a proper structure and perimeter fences then we can prevent so many problems,” Mr. Kamara said. “Mohamed Kallon is my brother and I will not sit and see him doing massive development and not give my own support as we are both in it together that is why I gave him the support of 50 bags of black turf pellets as my moral obligation as they are used for artificial turf and provide the softness of the floor, and skill of the ball and they prevent sand under the artificial turf from forming up so that they could be used before the turf is laid,” he continued . He called on others who have the upper hand to support “our brother” {Mohamed Kallon} because what he is doing is not for himself but for Sierra Leone. “Football is an investment but in Sierra Leone … we are … sacrificing and helping our little brothers and sisters who have chosen football as their career so that they can actualize their dreams of playing Football to the level they want and contribute to national development,” he said.  He however made a commitment to support the development of football in the country and the players and called on Sierra Leoneans to come on board and support the project Mohamed Kallon is undertaking because it would be of great help to Sierra Leone.

In his response owner of FC Kallon and the Mohamed Kallon Field, Mr. Mohamed Kallon thanked Babadi Kamara for such timely support which he described as massive. He went on to say that he is developing the playing ground as part of the effort to enhance the development of sports infrastructure in Sierra Leone, beginning with the Southern Arena as the pace setter whih they have to follow. He further thanked his delegation and expressed hopes that more teams would do likewise. “All we are doing is for the boys” he concluded.
