Freetown—Magistrate Mustapha Briama Jah of Pademba Road Court No.1 on Friday, July 19, 2025, ordered the remand of Isata Bindi, who stands accused of fatally stabbing her husband, Mustapha Bangura, in a domestic dispute.
Bindi faces a charge of manslaughter, contrary to law, following an incident that occurred on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at Aberdeen Road in Freetown. According to court documents, the accused allegedly used a sharp object to stab her husband, resulting in his death.
No plea was taken during Friday’s proceedings. Prosecuting officer ASP Ibrahim Mansaray requested an adjournment, citing the absence of key witnesses and the recent transfer of the case file to his office.
The court has set Monday, July 21, 2025, for the hearing to continue.
Details from the file revealed that Isata Bindi and Mustapha Bangura were married with two children and had a shared history from Bo District, where their relationship began. Over time, sources claim that the couple experienced frequent quarrels and were no longer on speaking terms. The fatal incident reportedly took place during a heated domestic altercation.
