Woman Remanded for Manslaughter in Fatal Stabbing Case

Freetown, Sierra Leone – May 16, 2025Isata Bindi has been remanded in custody by Magistrate Sahr Kekura at Pademba Road Court No.1, following her first court appearance on a manslaughter charge related to the fatal stabbing of Mustapha Bangura.

According to police reports, Bindi allegedly stabbed Bangura to death on April 2, 2025, at Fossic Williams Drive off Aberdeen Road, Freetown.

Court Proceedings and Bail Denial

When the charge was read and explained, Bindi did not enter a plea. She appeared in court without legal representation, while the case was prosecuted by ASP Ibrahim Mansaray on behalf of the Inspector General of Police.

Prosecutors requested an adjournment, stating that key witnesses were absent. Given the serious nature of the charge, Magistrate Kekura denied bail and scheduled the next hearing for May 23, 2025.

Both cases underscore the strict stance of the Sierra Leonean judiciary on serious criminal offenses, with further developments expected in the coming weeks.
