The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has disbursed a total of US$200,000 to the country’s Men’s and Women’s Premier League Boards to support preparations for the 2026/2027 football season.
According to a press release issued on Friday, September 18, the Association provided US$100,000 each to the Men’s Premier League Board and the Women’s Premier League Board as part of efforts to ensure a smooth and successful start to the new campaign.
The 2026/2027 Premier League season is scheduled to kick off on October 10, 2026.
The financial support is intended to strengthen the operational and administrative capacities of both league bodies as they finalize arrangements ahead of the new season.
The SLFA, under the leadership of President Babadi Kamara, said the funding reflects its continued commitment to the development of domestic football and the organization of competitive and well-managed league competitions across the country.
The Association also extended best wishes to the two league boards, participating clubs and football stakeholders as preparations intensify for the new season.
The latest intervention is expected to boost readiness for the upcoming campaign and reinforce efforts to enhance the quality and competitiveness of Sierra Leone’s top-flight football leagues
