Makeni, August 21, 2026: The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has stood down the Falaba District Council during its public hearing in Makeni after the Council failed to produce sector heads and adequate supporting documents for queries raised in the 2024 Auditor General’s Report.

PAC members expressed concern that accountability was being left solely to the Chief Administrator (CA) and Council Chairman, stressing that sector heads must be present to answer queries relating to their departments.

Hon. Aron Aruna Koroma noted that expenditures had been made without sufficient documentation, making it difficult for the Committee to establish accountability. He directed that the Council return for a full hearing with all sector heads and required documents.

Deputy Chairman Hon. PC Desmond M. Kargobai instructed the Secretariat to ensure the former CA is invited to the next sitting and that the current CA communicates with sector heads to secure their attendance. “CA, you need to inform them, inform your sector heads, come with your sector heads,” he stressed.

The Committee subsequently stood down the hearing, directing Falaba District Council to reappear in Port Loko with the full complement of officials and documentation for effective scrutiny
