Daizy Princess Mujeh Abdulai, the winner of Miss Sierra Leone 2023, on Saturday February 17, 2024, has appealed to Sierra Leoneans to support her to win the 72nd Miss World Beauty Pageant as she has departed for the competition in India.

Ms Abdulai will be competing against contestants from 120 other countries across the world. The competition will last for three weeks, during which all the participants will be hosted in New Delhi for the initial stages before proceeding on to Mumbai for the finals, scheduled to take place on March 9, 2024.

According to Abdulai, she has made a lot of preparations toward the competition. “But that could not alone make me win the competition. Sierra Leoneans, I cannot do it without your support, so be part of this journey and make history together with me. Part of the competition includes the Multimedia Challenge, where the winner is determined through various digital platforms. Supporters are encouraged to participate by downloading the MobStar App from the Play Store, creating a profile, voting for Daizy Princess Mujeh Abdulai by liking her pictures and sharing the message with others.”

She said that her aim is to showcase Sierra Leonean youths’ glowing beauty, culture, resilience, creativity and potential. “My dream has been to represent my country on the Miss World stage since I was 8. With God being my helper and you, Sierra Leoneans, I have conquered every challenge I had to face, and now the opportunity has presented itself. As I leave for India, I will carry with me the hopes and dreams of every woman and young girl in Sierra Leone especially those with Albinism. I need your prayers and whatever ways you can support me to win this forthcoming event. As I believe, no dream is too small, too big, invalid or unachievable. Whatever dream you have set, try hard as possible to achieve it,” she said.

She stated that followers could engage with her personal pages on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitter. “And you can also like, comment, and share my content. All these will generate points for me,” said Abdulai.

Social media handles for Abdulai include: IG – miss_sierra_leone_2023, FB – Miss Sierra Leone 2023 and TikTok – Miss Sierra Leone 2023.

Dr. Adonis Abboud, the Chairman of Miss Sierra Leone Limited, explained that Abdulai’s capability to represent Sierra Leone at that global competition came as a result of her readiness which she showed at the just completed Miss Sierra Leone beauty pageant competition. “Having crowned her as Miss Sierra Leone in October 2023, we believed that she has all what it takes to represent Sierra Leone. She has the potential. We believe that she only needs our support, Sierra Leoneans,” Dr. Abboud said.

Abdulai, who is 21, completed her primary education in Bo at Zenith International Academy. She then went on to the Annie Walsh Memorial School for her secondary school education. Abdulai is currently pursuing an honors degree in Chemistry at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.

Since she started her modeling career at 8, she has won several beauty pageants, which include: Miss Fredmatt in 2010, Miss Valentine 2020, Miss New England Ville 2020, Miss Diamond Empire 2021, Miss Rokel 2021, Miss New England Ville 2022 and Miss Freetown 2022.
